Ramses van Brunschot

Ramses van Brunschot, a rising ice hockey talent, discovers his passion for ice hockey at the age of 9. Ramses quickly dedicated himself to the game and developed rapidly, leaving behind a diverse sporting background that included tennis, swimming, judo, soccer, surfing, and sailing.

Currently, Ramses shines on the ice for the Alcmaria Flames U23 and the Dutch Flyers U18, while also representing the national youth selection at numerous occassions. His impressive skills earned him the second-highest points in Defense in the U17 junior league last season. He currently has multiple offers to play in Dutch Premier League teams.

Ramses' journey extends beyond national borders, with appearances for the U16 National team and victories at prestigious tournaments. In his first appearance in an American tournament (Showder Cup 2023) playing with the Atlantic Coast Academy U16 AAA Elite Purple, he scored his first goal (from behind the net). At the CCM Summer Invite in Boston, Ramses scored multiple goals in the semis and in the finals, being one of the key players for his team. His training regimen is rigorous, balancing gym sessions, on-ice practice, and mentoring young players. Since 2022, Ramses works out at the gym four times a week, trains on ice five times a week, plays two to three games each weekend and provides three hours of hockey training to U7, U9 and U11 players weekly.

Known for his creative play, agility, explosiveness, deceiving opponents and strategic game reading, Ramses thrives in tight spaces and constantly seeks opportunities during play. Giving every shift his best to enhance team performance, he constantly thrives to create time and space, for himself as well as his teammates. Ramses is physically strong, has a good puck conrol and works the body when needed. He is very effective in those areas where his skating skills enable unpredictable and swift turns and moves. Ramses has a deep passion for Ice Hockey and consistently gives his all. He is also critical on his peformances and eager for personal development. At times, he finds it challenging to deal with mistakes due to his pursuit of excellence. With aspirations to play collegiate ice hockey in the United States, Ramses is focused on maximizing his potential both on and off the ice.

Ramses' younger brother is a top prospect as well, looking to start his collegiate career in the Fall of 2026.

Alongside his athletic pursuits, Ramses is pursuing his education at the highest level of high school in the Netherlands, with plans to graduate in Spring 2025 and explore a major in biotechnology.
