Janiek Steenbeeke

Level
Janiek currently plays for BH & BC Breda U18-2 with whom she competes at a competitive level. She previously played at BHV Push at a high level. She decided to switch clubs at the age of 14 to continue her development. At her current club, Breda, she plays a vital role in her teams success and is continuously working to develop herself into the best player she can be. Janiek’s ability to excel both as a center midfielder and center back makes her a versatile player who can adapt to different tactical systems.

Playing Style
Janiek’s ability to apply constant pressure on opponents, both in and out of possession, disrupts the flow of opposing attacks. Her determination and tactical awareness make her a crucial part of her team’s defensive strategy.
Her strength in defensive duels and ability to start attacks with incisive passes make her a dual-threat asset. With outstanding fitness, Janiek consistently performs at a high intensity throughout the game. Her stamina and speed allow her to cover large areas of the field and compete fully for every ball, even in the final moments of play. Moreover, Janiek stays calm under pressure and makes smart decisions when on the ball. Her skill in penalty corners, both as a hard-hitter and as an inserter, makes her a valuable player in critical scoring situations. On top of that, Janiek has a great work ethic, competitive spirit, and always wants to become a better player. She is coachable, disciplined, and driven to reach her full potential, ensuring her contribution to the team grows over time.

Academics
Janiek is currently in her senior year of Gymnasium (highest level of Dutch high school). She is expecting to graduate in June, 2025. She is really excited to play in the U.S. and wants to compete with her new team starting in the Fall of 2025.
