Amy Tijmstra

Amy Tijmstra (2008), representing AV Hylas Alkmaar, is an accomplished track and field athlete, specialized in sprints and long jump. She competed in several national championships and has won several medals. She is seeking to join a college track and field program, where she can excel in individual events and compete in team events as well, which she really enjoys. She is very eager to take her athletic career to the next level in the United States.

About Amy Tijmstra

Amy’s strength lies in her explosive starts and ability to maintain speed through the race, consistently delivering top performances. Amy is focused on continuing her progress in track and field, together with her twin sister Wendy, who is also in the process of finding a college track and field team in the U.S.



Amy began competing in track and field at the age of 8. At the age of 12, she joined a competitive training group and really started to make progress. In 2022, she had the opportunity to compete in the International Children’s Games (ICG) in Coventry, where she made it to the B-final in the 100m and helped her team secure 2nd place in the 4x100m relay. Over the years, Amy has consistently performed well at the Dutch National Championships, frequently reaching finals and standing on the podium. At the National Championships Relay in 2024, she won a bronze medal on the 4x100m, Gold on the 4x 200m and Gold on the Swedish Relay.

  • 60m: 7.68 sec
  • 100m: 12.10 sec
  • 200m: 24.40 sec
  • 400m: 57.83 sec
  • Long Jump: 5.40 meters
  • 80m Hurdles: 12.86 sec

Amy looks forward to being part of a college program in the U.S., especially since she loves team events, which are more prevalent in the American system. She hopes to find a school with her twin sister Wendy.
