Daen is known for his mental strength, staying positive in the face of challenges, and being socially adept both on and off the slopes. Standing at 181 cm and weighing 71 kg, he combines his physical capabilities with a strong mental game, which has been instrumental in his success so far.

Athletic Career
Daen began his ski racing journey at 12 years old after attending a summer camp for outdoor skiing, which sparked his passion for the sport. In his first year, he finished in the top 5 of his category and continued to improve rapidly. He had some setbacks due to the COVID pandemic and health issues, which resulted in a negative mental state. Daen made a full recovery after a year-long struggle, learning the importance of mental health in sports.
In the years that followed, Daen claimed the title of national champion and won the prestigious Lowlands championship. He also finished in the top 15 at one of the largest international races for U16 skiers. Though he temporarily shifted focus to his studies last year, his commitment to skiing remains unwavering.

FIS Ranking: 

Daen earned his first FIS points during the 2023/2024 season and has since shown significant growth. On the most recent 7th FIS points list of 2024/2025, Daen has 77.88 points in Slalom and holds 98.64 points in Giant Slalom. Daen is also interested in competing in Super-G; however, he does not yet have any FIS points in that discipline.

Daen is now focused on continuing his development, both academically and athletically, as he looks to join a college skiing program where he can balance both passions and make the most of his skiing career.
