Gijs Thiessens

Standing at 1.88 meters and weighing 69.5kg, Gijs is a presence on the field. He primarily plays as a catcher, third base, shortstop, or outfielder making him an extremely versatile player.

Gijs’s strengths lie in his athleticism, height, strength, and exceptional endurance, making him a commanding presence on the field. His tremendous motivation to progress and willingness to do whatever it takes to improve have been key drivers of his rapid development. With his disciplined mindset, Gijs continuously refines his skills, making him highly coachable and adaptable to new challenges.

Having played a variety of sports from a young age—soccer, tennis, field hockey, and boxing—Gijs developed a broad athletic foundation before falling in love with baseball. This diverse background, paired with his natural athletic genes and disciplined mindset, allows him to quickly adapt, learn, and refine his skills.

Gijs is particularly inspired by the winner's mentality and structured approach to sports and academics found in the United States. This drive has fueled his ambition to pursue opportunities at a boarding school where he can develop his game further while embracing a challenging academic environment.
