Sven Band (2006) is a 6’3 opposite from The Netherlands, looking for a college volleyball team to join in the Fall of 2025. Sven just graduated from high school and plays volleyball at VV Zaanstad.

About Sven Band

Sven started playing volleyball at a young age at VV Zaanstad, he still plays for the same club. He currently plays at their first team for boys U18 and men’s third team, playing third division.  

Besides training and playing at his own club, Sven is also training at Compean Volleyball school, every Sunday with other talented players from his region to learn more and improve his game. 

During the summer, Sven also plays beach volleyball at Silicium (Eredivisie level). In 2022 he also played at the Dutch National Championship beach U17 and reached the quarter finals. 

Apart from playing at the opposite spot, Sven is also able to play as a mid. His height is one of his strongest points as an athlete. He has the ability to use his height well during blocking. He has a good vision and times his block well. 

During his time in college, Sven wants to improve his attacking skills. To be able to have a better coverage of the whole court and improve his approach to become a better volleyball player overall. 

Sven is a great team player, a fighter on court who will give everything for the team. He is excited to learn from his future teammates and we believe within the right environment and with the right coaching Sven can be a great addition to many teams. 

Sven just graduated high school, in the HAVO level, the second highest level of high school in The Netherlands. He is currently enrolled in a nursing bachelor and wants to transfer his credits to the US.
