Sports: Women’s Track & Field
Entry semester: Fall 2025
This is Amy Tijmstra. She is 16 years old and comes from a small village in the Netherlands called Koedijk. She still lives at home with her parents, brother, and sister.
Amy started with Track & Field in 2016 when she was 8 years old. She went to a trial with her brother, and everything looked so fun that Amy decided to try a trial class herself. She prefers sprint distances, but she also enjoys the long jump event.
What makes Amy special as a person is that she will never give up; she always wants to keep going until she becomes the best version of herself. As an athlete, Amy stands out because she is a true team player. Even when she is not in the competition, she always cheers on her teammates. She also enjoys running relays, as it allows her to transfer her energy to her teammates.
Amy hopes to improve her running and push herself to achieve her full potential. She also wants to pursue a study that suits her well. In the United States, she will always work hard, both in training and in the classroom.
