Sports: Men’s Tennis
Entry semester: Fall 2023
16-year-old Jasper de Bruijn plays tennis and lives in Voorschoten, a town near The Hague. He started playing tennis at the age of 5 and quickly noticed that tennis was really a sport for him. He participated in more and more tournaments and matches and after one year or so was scouted by the KNLTB. He then trained with the KNLTB until the age of 12.
Jasper is a very helpful guy and will always make sure he helps people who need it. He is an independent hard worker who knows how to come back from injury. After being in a major accident and breaking his elbow in the process, he has done everything he can to come back stronger. As an athlete, he is an offensive lefty with a creative style of play and he will never give up. Once he starts a match he will keep on fighting until the last point is played. In addition, he is a true team player who likes to support his teammates.
In America, he would like to further develop his own academic and athletic skills, make a lot of new friends and have a great time. He will work very hard and hopes to eventually win a national championship.
