Thijs is an 18-year-old golfer from Amsterdam, Netherlands. He started playing soccer and hockey at the age of five, but from the age of seven, he decided to fully focus on hockey. He played at both regional and national levels. In addition to hockey, Thijs is also a passionate skier and is currently working towards becoming a ski instructor in Austria.
In 2018, Thijs discovered golf and began playing at Golfclub Houtrak. His talent quickly became apparent, as in his first year of playing, he was part of the team that became Dutch Champion in Golf Sixes. Since then, Thijs has significantly improved his golf game and participates in national tournaments and competitions. His discipline and determination make him a special athlete. He doesn’t see setbacks as failure, but as opportunities to come back stronger.
What makes Thijs truly special as an athlete is his ability to quickly analyze situations and respond accordingly. He is a natural team player who is always looking for ways to improve and further develop himself. This makes him a valuable player in any golf setting.
In the United States, Thijs wants to take his golf career to the next level. He hopes to become physically and mentally stronger, further refine his skills, and make his dream come true of ultimately becoming the best golfer in the world. Thijs is determined to build a long-term career in golf and looks forward to being part of a team where he can grow both as an athlete and as a person.
Thijs brings not only talent and discipline but also a tremendous drive to get the best out of himself. He will certainly be a valuable addition to any team.
