Julien Jansen

At the age of 11, Julien joined the CSE Zwolle (Centre for Elite Sports and Education). He trained there until he was 15, at which point he suffered an ACL injury. The injury required a lengthy rehabilitation process and during this time, he was unable to train for an extended period. However, Julien never gave up and showed resilience and discipline. After his rehabilitation, Julien has returned to his previous competitive level. He made a strong recovery and he is now competing at the national championship level again.

His strength lies in his ability to keep training consistently. As Julien says, "Everyone feels like skipping training at times, but the difference is made when you go anyway." His strong work ethic has been the cornerstone of his success, helping him push through adversity and continuously improve. This resulted in multiple qualifications for the Dutch National Championships. Right now, he is training hard to keep his progression going. This resulted in improving his 1500m PR from 4:23 (June, 2024) to 4:18 (Aug, 2024).

In addition to track and field, Julien also plays soccer and is passionate about continuing both sports. If possible, he is interested in joining a combined collegiate program that allows him to compete in track and field while also playing soccer.
